Ambassador Mr. Dilli Raj Poudel assumed his responsibilities as Ambassador of Nepal to Malaysia on 23 September 2022.

 

 

Previous Experience

Prior to this appointment, he was a businessman and social activist in Nepal and the United States of America. Mr. Poudel served as the District Chair of Lions Club of Kathmandu, District B1, Nepal for the period 2019-2020.

Mr. Poudel was a member and office bearer of multiple diaspora organisations in the United States of America, where he lived for over a decade. These include the Overseas Nepali Forum, United Nepalese Democratic Forum, Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (USA), Association of Nepalese in America, Non-Resident Nepalese Association among others.

Mr. Poudel was the founder and principal of Shining Star English School, Pokhara, Nepal in 1996 and has also served as the Chairperson of Janaki Medical College, Janakpur, Nepal from March 2017 until June 2018.

Mr. Poudel has published articles and commentaries on socio-political issues in publications such as Nepali Post, Vishwa Sandesh, Nepali Aawaj, Vishwa Parikrama, America Darpan, Sunrise Khabar among others. He is fluent in Nepali, English, and Hindi.

Ambassador Poudel holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science, obtained from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1997.

Born on 12 August 1969 in Tanahun, Nepal, he is married to Ms. Sita Poudel and they have three children.
