All foreigners except Indian nationals need a visa to visit Nepal.
There are two ways to get a tourist visa. Please read the option that applies to you, as the forms, the fees and the currency are different.

Nationals of twelve countries cannot use Option 2. The list is at the bottom of this page.
1. Apply at the Embassy in Kuala Lumpur
Complete the online application first at the mission application form, then come to the Embassy.

- Your original passport, valid for at least 6 months

The fee is paid at the Embassy Revenue Counter in cash.
2. Get the visa on arrival in Nepal
Complete the on arrival form online before you travel, then obtain your visa at the entry point when you reach Nepal.

Before you choose this option
Nationals of the twelve countries listed below, and holders of refugee travel documents, are not able to obtain a visa on arrival. They must obtain a visa from a Nepali mission before departing for Nepal.
Visas issued free of charge
- Indian nationals do not require a visa to visit Nepal.
- Nationals of SAARC countries and China can obtain a visa free of charge at the Embassy for a maximum of 30 days.
Nationals who must obtain a visa in advance
Foreign nationals of the following countries, other than official and diplomatic passport holders, are requested to obtain a visa from the relevant Nepali mission before departing for Nepal. Option 2 above is not available to them.
