The Embassy of Nepal, Kuala Lumpur issues electronic passports. Applicants are requested to come in person, as the Embassy is not able to accept applications sent by post, through an agent, or by email.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
1. Complete the online form
Please visit online.nepalpassport.gov.np and fill in the application form.
- Select your application type: First Issuance, Renewal, Replacement (Lost/Stolen) or Replacement (Damaged).
- Select the type of passport you would like, either 34 pages or 66 pages, then click Proceed.
- Tick I agree.
- Fill in your details under each heading. If you do not have a NIN (National Identity Number), please leave that field empty.
- Upload clear scans of your citizenship certificate, front and back, along with pages 2 and 3 of your current passport.
- Click Book Your Appointment, select NE, Kuala Lumpur, and choose a date and time that suits you.
- Submit the form, download the PDF and print it.
If you need help
You are welcome to ask someone you trust to complete the form and send you the PDF to print. There is no need to pay anyone for this service.

Fees are payable at the Embassy in cash. Please keep the receipt safely, as it is needed at the time of collection. The full schedule of consular charges is on the Service Charge page.
4. Collection
A passport normally takes 45 to 60 days to reach the Embassy from Kathmandu. Under the new passport system this period is gradually coming down as the process settles, and the Embassy expects it to shorten further.
Check the name list before you travel
When a batch of passports arrives, the Embassy publishes the list of names under Notices on this website and on the Embassy"s Facebook page, facebook.com/eonklmy.
When you come to collect, please bring:
- Your receipt
- Your old passport, if you still hold it
- Your citizenship certificate or another photo identity document
If you are not able to come yourself, please send a signed authorisation letter together with a photocopy of your citizenship certificate and the identity document of the person collecting on your behalf.
Applicants in Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines
Manual forms are no longer accepted. Please apply through the same online portal and select NE, Kuala Lumpur. A higher fee applies for these three countries and is listed on the Service Charge page.
