Press Release on the Presentation of ‘Letters of Credence’

His Excellency Mr. Dilli Raj Poudel, Ambassador of Nepal to the Brunei Darussalam presented his ‘Letters of Credence’ to His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam amidst a special ceremony held in the Royal Palace in Brunei Darussalam this afternoon.

During the audience with His Majesty the Sultan after the presentation of credentials, His Excellency, the Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings from Rt. Hon. Mr. Ramchandra Paudel, President of Nepal to His Majesty and his best wishes for the latter’s good health and happiness of the Sultan as well as for the continued peace, progress, prosperity and well-being of the friendly people of Brunei Darussalam. H.E. the Ambassador also stated that the bilateral relations between Nepal and Brunei have remained cordial since the establishment of diplomatic ties on February 3, 1984.

After the presentation of credentials, H.E. the Ambassador also paid a courtesy call on Honorable Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Minister of Internal Affairs at the latter’s office in the afternoon. Matters of mutual interests and bilateral cooperations including labour diplomacy, economic diplomacy and tourism among others were discussed during the meeting.

Today itself in the morning, H.E. the Ambassador also attended a brunch hosted by Honorable Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusuf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs II, and Haji Muhamad Fakhri bin Haji Mod Taib the Permanent Secretary/Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam. Matters of bilateral relations to further strengthening the bilateral cooperation were discussed during the interaction.

During the occasions, H.E. the Ambassador also expressed his commitment to work towards enhancing Nepal-Brunei ties to a newer height during his tenure.

Ambassador Poudel was accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Sita Poudel and First Secretary Mr. Baliram Prasad Dhami during the ceremony, and Labour Counsellor Mr. Bholanath Guragain and First Secretary Mr. Dhami during the courtesy call on Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs.
